Upgrades will occur more quickly when you update versions of WordPress due to changes in how upgrades are done.
Health Check
WordPress 3.2 requires PHP 5.2.4 or newer and MySQL 5.0 or newer. You can install the Health Check plugin to see if your host meets the requirements.
